Prayer for the Lonely

This week I received a prayer request from someone who felt like they were alone...Here is a little prayer for you.

Dear Lord-

There are times when we feel alone and that we have no one to talk to. It is sometimes hard to talk to family and loved ones during hard times. Sometimes they are not here for us to talk to. We try to express our thoughts but it seems like no one listens. Sometimes we cry out to try to get people to listen. It seems like they have no time to show us some love. Please show everyone who is feeling lonely that you are here, Lord. That you are always listening. It is hard to see people finding happiness in others, when we have no one to share with. Show us to be happy for the people that have found some one. Remind us that there is someone for us out there, and that we do not need to search for happiness in others. Hold me close so that when I do find someone, I can walk with them and you. Help us to never settle for less than we deserve. Sometimes loneliness is your cry for us to spend time with you. When we feel lonely, pull us close Lord. Let us find comfort in your word. When we feel empty, remind us that you satisfy and fill us up with your love. A love greater than any other love combined. Show us your love, Lord. Let everyone feel you here with them. Let this truth fill our souls. With your spirit inside, make us new again through you. Remind us of your word, "fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God;I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Oh dearest Lord, Oh loving Christ, show me that even with others aren't there for us, you are alway here.
