It is so easy to say something to someone without thinking, and once you say it you cannot take it back. I came across some bible verses to think about when you face one of the situations...
1. When you are angry: Proverbs 14:17
2. When you don't know the full story: Provers 18:13, Deuteronomy 17:6

3. If what you say may offend someone: 1 Corinthians 8:11
4. When you are tempted to joke about sin: Proverbs 14:9
5. If you will regret your words later: Proverbs 8:8
6. If what you say can be taken different ways: Proverbs 17:27
7. If it is none of your business: Proverbs 14:10
8. If what you are saying is a lie: Proverbs 4:24
9. When what you say could damage someone's (or your own) reputation: Proverbs 16:27
10. If your words will ruin a friendship: Probers 25:28
11. When you are feeling critical of others: James 3:9
12. If you can't speak without yelling: Proverbs 25:28
13. When it is time to listen: Proverbs 13:1
"Whosoever kept his mouth and his tongue, kept his soul from trouble." Proverbs 21:23
